Extraction of Wisdom Teeth
Wisdom teeth or “third molars” are the last set of teeth to form and most individuals do not have enough room in their jaw to accommodate for these teeth to come out.
Recommended age period for wisdom teeth removal is 15-25, however there are instances where individuals older than 30 years also have their wisdom teeth removed to decrease the complications mentioned below from occurring.
Regardless of their positioning, wisdom teeth removal is recommended to prevent:
- Damage to adjacent teeth
- Cavities
- Crowding of teeth
- Cyst and Tumor development
- Gum disease
- Infection
The sooner wisdom teeth are removed
- the higher the chance of having an easier surgery
- faster recovery period
- and a significantly reduced risk of complications.
After the removal of wisdom teeth we will provide you with a custom care package to allow you to easily take care of the surgical sites for the most optimal healing.

Extraction with Ridge Preservation
When a tooth is severely damaged, decayed, infected, or otherwise compromised to the extent that it cannot be saved or restored through other dental treatments, we recommend its removal. This will prevent the spread of possible infection to adjacent areas and improve your overall health. We might recommend you to bone graft the site after tooth removal to prevent loss in form and function of underlying bone and gums.

Tooth Exposure
Sometimes our adult teeth do not follow the normal eruption pattern and result in possible impaction in the jaw. These impacted teeth may damage adjacent teeth, cause cyst formation, or damage other vital structures. Impacted teeth can be exposed and brought back into normal orientation if treated early. Often times this procedure is completed while patients are undergoing orthodontic treatment. A small bracket with a chain is attached to the tooth after its exposure and anchored to the existing orthodontic framework. This will gradually move the tooth into its ideal position. This procedure helps align the teeth properly and avoids potential problems such as misalignment, pain, or infection from the impacted tooth.

Frenectomy
A frenectomy is a minor surgical procedure that involves removing or reshaping the frenum, which is a small fold of excess tissue in the mouth. There are two common areas for frenectomies: under the tongue and inside the upper or lower lip. If the frenum is too tight, thick, or extends too close to the teeth, it can cause issues such as gaps between the front teeth, recession around teeth, difficulty speaking, or problems with proper dental alignment. This simple procedure can avoid and eliminate the risk of developing such problems.

Oral Biopsy
An oral biopsy is a procedure where a small piece of tissue from the mouth, gums, tongue, or other areas inside the oral cavity is removed and sent to a laboratory for examination under a microscope. It is performed to help diagnose conditions like oral cancer, benign lesions, or other suspicious growths. The results help guide further treatment or management.

Tori Removal & Alveoplasty
Tori removal is a surgical procedure to eliminate excessive bony growths in the mouth, known as tori. These growths typically appear on the palate (roof of the mouth) or along the lower jaw, near the tongue. The growths are generally benign but can cause discomfort, interfere with speech, eating, or wearing dental appliances like dentures. This procedure will remove the excess bone and smoothen the area which will greatly improve oral comfort and function for patients who experience issues due to tori.

I highly recommend True North Dentistry for all of your dental needs. The office is clean, the staff is friendly and the dentists are knowledgeable.
I recently had a tooth fracture and was told that it needed to be removed. The thought of a tooth having to come out was not a good feeling but Dr. Hesam Tehrani made the process so much better than I ever expected. Since I did not want to have a missing tooth Dr. Hesam Tehrani explained dental implants as a tooth replacement option. I was nervous and had a lot of questions but he took the time to answer them and make sure that I was comfortable with all of the information. They even have a CT machine to help with the implant planning, amazing technology! My implant is now complete and I’m very happy with how it looks, feels and functions. From beginning to end the process was amazing and I could not recommend True North Dentistry more! I will continue to see them regularly for cleanings and if I ever need another implant I know I’m in excellent hands.
